David covers Yamhill County government and helps cover political and public policy issues in partnership with city hall reporter Nicole Montesano.
He also serves as the newsroom’s Internet editor. In that capacity, he helps oversees the news and public records content of the newspaper’s web site.
A native Oregonian, David graduated from the University of Oregon in 1989 with a bachelor of science degree in journalism. He worked briefly for the now-defunct Monmouth Sun-Enterprise, then joined the Clackamas County News in 1990 and served as its editor until 1995. Since joining the News-Register in July 1996, he has been the recipient of numerous state and national reporting awards in a variety of categories.
